As a tenant, I know the problems on the Berlin housing market. I have also been campaigning against displacement, for civil liberties and social justice for a long time.
That is why I represent you when you are faced with a seemingly overpowering opponent. I stand up for you when you have to defend yourself against structural inequalities and discrimination in our society.

Contact me before you take any steps of your own. An early defence helps to make important decisions and allay fears. After all, it is not only after measures such as searches, seizures or pre-trial detention that decisive decisions can be made.

About me
I run my law firm in an office partnership with my colleagues Yeelen Bihn, Laura Aulmann, Matija Vorhi and Daniel Weber. I am located in Berlin's Mitte district, within walking distance of the district court in Wedding, Gesundbrunnen railway station and the Volkspark Humboldthain.
I completed my legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal. My stations included working at the public prosecutor's office (department for intensive juvenile offenders), at the law firm akm Rechtsanwält*innen and with the criminal defence lawyer Hannes Honnecker.
Previously, I was a research assistant at Marek Schauer, a lawyer in Berlin, specialising in tenancy law.
I studied at the Free University of Berlin, specialising in international and European law.
In addition, I took part in the Law Clinic ‘Practice of Criminal Defence’. During a semester abroad I studied at the MRU in Vilnius.
I grew up in Bensheim an der Bergstraße - today I work and live in Berlin.
I am a member of Rote Hilfe e.V. and the Republican Lawyers' Association (RAV).
Fees
Legal advice costs money - this is necessary so that I can take enough time to represent you carefully and well.
In most cases, I charge according to the German Lawyers' Fees Act (RVG). This regulates the fees depending on the amount in dispute or the type of legal work. I will be happy to explain to you how the costs are calculated in your specific case.

For a detailed and individual initial consultation, I charge an amount of 100 to 190,00 euros (incl. VAT), depending on the effort and scope involved. As I will be dealing with your documents in advance, this amount must be paid in advance. You will receive an invoice in advance, which must be paid before the consultation. The consultation can take place in person at my office, by telephone or digitally.

If you have legal expenses insurance, I need a cover note from the insurance company. I will be happy to assist you with this. Legal expenses insurance often does not cover criminal proceedings at all or only to a limited extent. You should therefore find out from your insurer at an early stage whether costs can be covered.

Counselling assistance (Beratungshilfe) may be granted for out-of-court counselling if you have a low income. Please apply for this directly at the local court of your place of residence. You can find further information in German here.
In the case of tenancy law, it is possible to apply for legal aid (Prozesskostenhilfe) if you have a low income. You can find further information in German on this here.
In criminal law, I will also take on your public defence if the legal requirements are met.

In particularly complex or time-consuming cases, the statutory fees are often not sufficient to cover the actual amount of work involved. In such cases, I offer you a remuneration agreement at an early stage in order to give you the necessary attention.
